Style + Approach

All family sessions are photographed using a documentary-style approach.

These sessions are designed to capture your family’s connection, personality, and story. Before we meet, we’ll have a consultation call so I can learn more about what makes your family unique—from the everyday routines to your children’s favorite activities.

Together, we’ll plan a session that centers around simply living life and connecting with one another.

Telling your unique story through photographs is what inspires me most, and I can’t wait to get started.

I believe the beauty of family life is found in the small details — the quiet moments, the shared routines, and the little interactions that make your family yours.

A family of three sitting by a fireplace with Christmas stockings hanging, a decorated Christmas tree, and a small child talking to the mother and father.

The Album

Your session becomes more than a gallery of images — the album is a glimpse into this season in life that you can hold onto and return to over time.

Each session includes a custom-designed layflat album that brings your photographs together in a natural way. Rather than a collection of individual images, it is designed to reflect a day in the life of your family during this season —the small moments, quiet details, and the rhythm of your everyday. It’s something you’ll reach for often—on quiet mornings, with your children in your lap, or years from now when these days feel far away.

Where should we shoot?

I often encourage clients to consider photographing in their home. Home is typically where families feel most comfortable, and it naturally provides familiar spaces and activities that help everyone relax and interact during the session. During our consultation call, we can talk through how your family spends time together and plan a few simple moments to document.

Outdoor sessions are also a wonderful option. If we choose to photograph outside, we will select a location that your family already enjoys visiting so the experience feels natural and relaxed. We may also plan a few activities to bring along to help create movement and connection during the session.

What Should I Wear?

My main recommendation for wardrobe is to choose pieces that you personally love and feel comfortable in. Rather than focusing on everyone matching perfectly, I encourage families to prioritize clothing that reflects their individual style. When people feel comfortable and confident in what they’re wearing, it naturally translates into the photographs.

I hope picking outfits can help each family member express and celebrate themselves!
