Exploring new places

I had the opportunity to spend 2 months in Scotland with my family the summer of 2024 and brought my camera along with me for pretty much every outing. I love to travel but one of the main parts of that is the experience of photographing when I travel. It really allows me to ability to savor the present - to be IN it. It’s so easy in my day to day to miss the moments because I’m so caught up in my to-do list or the schedule. Don’t get me wrong, I still had a schedule for the trip (very type-A) in many regards but visiting a new place really gave me pause as a took in all that was unfamiliar and new.

We went a bit slower and steered clear of some of the more physically challenging adventures because we had our 1yr old and 4yr old with us. Perhaps some of the hiking trails will be for our next trip out there but we were in awe of the beauty of the western islands, the Highlands, the quaint towns and everything in between.

Being able to photograph the trip was really something I looked forward to and one of the biggest gifts that keeps on giving. I look back on the photos often and remember our sweet time together there as family.

Also, Scotland is breathtaking! My husband and I were it complete awe as we drove through the Highlands! I can’t wait to go back. Truly an incredible trip. I’m addicted to millionaire bars now and in the midst of planning our next adventure.
