Those early days…

Photographing newborns is one of my greatest joys! It truly is incredible to witness a new life brought into the world. Nothing compares to it. I remember when I was pregnant and the urge to “nest” kicked in - it’s part of the anticipation, then there was the waiting, thinking that I could surely deliver ‘any day now’ and trying all the exercises poses to move things along. Finally there was the delivery and the overwhelming peace of being able to hold my baby in my arms.

Once we were home there is this weird mix of perfect peace in seeing his sweet face and holding his warm body mixed with the sleepless nights of feedings and soothing him back to sleep along with the pains of post-natal recovery. Mostly though it was good, very good.

I am thrilled when newborn session inquiries come in as I get to witness again these early days with other families and share in that joy.
